A Cure for Absent-Mindedness

Missing Deer Tile

Missing Deer Tile

I was doing some tile work in a courtyard wall of my house, and I had a very special hand-painted Mexican tile of a deer that was going to be the centerpiece in a design, but I could not find it.
It was not in the kitchen drawer where the other tiles were that I had saved for the job. All my frantic searching was in vain, and I was getting more irritated by the minute while berating myself for being so absent-minded.
I decided to dowse to find it. I knew that I needed to calm my emotional state first, so I took some time to do that and then proceeded to dowse. I had always kept this tile in a certain drawer of the kitchen, so here was my process:
"Is the special deer tile that I have misplaced in my kitchen?"
Ans. YES
"Is the tile in a drawer?"
Ans. YES
So, for the millionth time, I went to the designated drawer where I had always kept it, and again, it wasn't there, so back to the dowsing. Of course, I thought my dowsing was wrong.
Then I thought I might have left it in a pile of papers under a table in the living room where I had taken it one day, so I then asked:
"Is the tile in a pile of papers under a table?"
Ans. YES
I then proceeded to go through the pile of papers under the table in the living room, but it wasn't there. So, I screamed out loud in frustration, "That's why I don't dowse! I don't get the right answer!"
I went back to the kitchen and just looked around the room, trying to think where else it might be. My gaze went to my kitchen table, and the large drawer under it. I had absolutely no recollection of putting it there, since that was where I stored cookbooks, an illogical place for my tile.
I pulled out the drawer, and there was a pile of papers I had stuffed in there while hurriedly cleaning up one day before a guest arrived at my home.
There was the tile! My dowsing was correct, but my questions weren't as accurate as they should have been. I apologized to my dowsing system, and vowed to work on my questioning in the dowsing future.

Lessons in Trust NEW

Sometimes, you have the right answer, but you don't know it, and then you think your dowsing is wrong.
My dowsing knew it was in a drawer in the kitchen under a table, but I didn't even consider WHICH TABLE or WHICH ROOM at first. I had several tables with drawers in the house. Your emotional state can interfere with clear thinking, and your dowsing can still be correct.

lost objects NEW
by: Kathy

I love your story Nancy! I have also dowsed for lost objects with good results most of the time. I once used a pendulum to find another pendulum that I had lost. The lost one had slid under my car seat and had been there all winter long! It must have fallen out of my pocket.

Good Reminder NEW
by: Fern

That is an excellent reminder for all of us who sometimes hurry when we are frustrated or anxious and don't take the time to think about being specific. Thank you. Fern from Canada.

Perfect Dowsing! NEW
by: Nigel

That is a good story and thanks for sharing it!
It also illustrates perfectly what I believe about dowsing, and that is that the answer you get is always correct for question you asked.
Sometimes, however, as you have shown, you have to work at it a little to really understand just how it could be accurate!
An excellent reminder of that golden rule!
