Hi! We are Nigel and Maggie Percy of Sixth Sense Consulting.

Dowsing is what brought us together. In fact, that is an incredible story of its own! We met on the internet at an email newsgroup for dowsers. Our friendship blossomed, and the rest, as they say, is history...

We use dowsing every day in our personal lives, and dowsing and the use of our intuition is how we make our living through our business, Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc.

We enjoy helping others learn this empowering technique. But you don't become a Master Dowser overnight. Nor are you born one. It is a journey of discovery and practice. We have about thirty years of dowsing experience between us, and we are still learning and growing.

Nigel's Story

I was dowsing over the body of a cat named Sonic, having heard about the aura but knew nothing else. As I was moving the pendulum over and above Sonic, it changed what it was doing at one point. I thought I was doing something wrong and re-traced my steps. Same thing happened.

That’s when I looked down at Sonic and away from the pendulum and I realized I was directly over her spay scar! That’s when I became a believer!

At that point I knew that there was an invisible world around me and that I had to start exploring it.

I grew more and more interested in dowsing and it took more and more of my attention away from my work as a lecturer in History and Philosophy. I read more books, attended the British Society of Dowsers’ meetings in London and developed my ideas and experimented more and more.

In fact it took up so much of my interest that it effectively stopped me from completing my PhD!

Over the years since then I’ve bought a lot of pendulums and other tools and slowly learned to do without them all. Now I mainly use my eyelids to dowse with. Yes, I know that sounds strange, but it works. I blink for a ‘Yes’ response and I don’t blink for a ‘No’.

About 10 to 12 years ago, I began to get interested in how different energies made a huge difference in my life; in the way I felt and acted.

That’s when I started going to places like Avebury and Stonehenge and looking at the landscape with new eyes.

I also began to be far more aware of what was happening to me in different locations.

My dowsing increased in intensity and I began making some interesting discoveries about the earth energies and also began to look at ways of altering them to make them more beneficial to me.

As I gained more experience, so I learned that there was more to it than just finding a list of things in an environment. It was also about listening to it, feeling it, letting it ‘talk’ to me about which areas needed attention and what would work.

I pretty soon moved away from the ‘traditional’ fixes, and began to experiment (by this time, with Maggie) with other techniques. Maggie and I also attended other peoples’ courses and learned from their points of view new ways of working.

In other words, my story has been one of slowly becoming more and more involved with dowsing and with the earth.

But it's also more than just that. For example, at the same time I was also aware that i was able to help people with their problems, ailments, ilnesses, fears and phobias and that intrigued me too!

So I began learning better ways of helping people, not just the earth.

Of all the things I've learned, techniques I've studied, I've come to realize that my journey is about finding out about the many invisible things which affect us in so many ways....and then learning to bring them all into balance.

Maggie's Story

As the result of a health catastrophe that took left me very ill, I decided to research nutrition when the doctors gave up on me. Fortunately, I had my schooling to fall back on, so I decided to use my education to restore my health.

From nutrition I was led to the world of herbs and supplements. I also began to use the services of holistic health practitioners like chiropractors, massage therapists and naturopathic doctors.

My healing progressed at a faster rate. My search for noninvasive, natural ways to heal myself led me to the world of energy healing.

I became totally intrigued with Therapeutic Touch and then Reiki. I became a Reiki Master Teacher. When attending my Karuna^tmReiki Master Training, I had my first exposure to dowsing.

The teacher showed us how to dowse the human chakras using a pendulum. I bought a pendulum from her and immediately started using it.

I practically became obsessed with dowsing, in a way I had never been passionate about Reiki. I devoured every book and class I could find about dowsing and attended ASD (American Society of Dowsers) meetings regularly. I joined the American Society of Dowsers.

In a few short months, I was accurately using dowsing in my Reiki practice and with family and pets to help resolve health issues. I was hooked for life!

The more I read, the more versatile I found dowsing to be. I learned to do space clearing and even animal communication using dowsing.

I had some wonderful successes that built my confidence in using my intuition through dowsing. It also changed my paradigm completely, as intuition was able to answer questions and address issues that science was unable to deal with.

My participation in the ASD led me to Nigel, who was a member of an ASD email group I had joined in 2000. Our email correspondence blossomed into romance, and I went to the UK late in 2000 and we married in England in 2001.

It has been a long, circuitous route to where I now am, but I am thrilled with the results.

I am passionate about using my intuition to help people, animals and the planet. For me, Modern Western Geomancy is a perfect outlet for that passion.

Our Story: Sixth Sense Consulting

As you've probably guessed, we’re both pretty passionate about using intuition in all forms. And about working with the invisible energies around us to harmonize our relationship with the earth and all that lives here.

Since coming back to America in 2001 and starting up our own business (Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc.) we have progressed to the point where we contribute to journals, give presentations about our work, teach workshops and have a growing, satisfied client base.

We are unique! There are very few husband and wife teams working professionally in this field. The combination of male and female energies gives us a great advantage over individuals working alone.

We are lucky that what one of us might miss or mis-interpret, the other one gets. The balance in our relationship helps us to get great results for our clients.

Another unique aspect is that we like the same things, have had remarkably similar lives in many ways and share the same dreams and aspirations.

As a couple working together, we’re pretty much blessed!
