Dowsing Rods Cross Over Me

I went to a presentation last night, and they had us try out the L-rods while we walked around a spiritually active area.
My rods kept crossing in front (so far so good), but then they would keep crossing and moving back until they crossed back on me.
I removed my jewelry, tried holding them at different levels, and tried different areas. Kept getting the same response. Any idea why?
I am a medium, but don't know if that would affect anything.
Other peoples' dowsing rods would follow me as I moved, too.

Theresa, there could be many reasons for this happening to you. But, you can always find out by dowsing about it.
Whenever your tool does something strange for the first time, back off from what you are involved in, or move away from the area you are dowsing and begin to question what is going on.
For example, it could be because you are being told that it is a bad question, or that there is something new which you need to find out about (a person, a place, an energy, whatever), or there is something about you which needs attention; either to fix or to investigate further; maybe you have an old connection with the place, or you are affected by it in another way.
In other words, the rods' reaction (in fact, any tool's reaction) which is novel, is just the first step in an investigation.
When I was using pendulums a lot, I got different signals which I found out meant, 'poorly worded question', and later another one which meant 'wrong line of investigation'.
It's just a matter of finding out what it means to you.
