How do I know if I am accurate at dowsing?

by Tamara
(Atlanta, GA, U.S.)

I am a beginning dowser and am wanting to see if there is a way to confirm the accuracy of the answers I am getting.

Do you have any kind of recommended questions or techniques that I could try to see if I am really any good at this or not?

Thanks Nigel! I have been taking your advice and I seem to be getting better and better. It does help my confidence when I am able to verify my answers. I am starting to get more intuitive and that is pretty exciting.

Dowsing Accuracy NEW
by: Nigel

This is always one of the biggest things in dowsing,'Am I accurate?' Of course, the hidden assumption is, 'Can I always be accurate?'. But, if you consider 'normal' life, then 100% accuracy is extremely rare there, so it is the same in dowsing.
I know of a few water dowsers whose success rate in bringing in wells is in the high 90% range. But for other areas, it can vary greatly according to expertise and practice.
The first thing I'd say is that you need to practice on things you can verify. So, for example, you can dowse simple stuff, like the number of cans in your pantry, how long before you see someone wearing red pass by your window, where the tallest tree in a mile is or anything like that.
These things can be checked and so you can begin to see your accuracy. It might be that you are more accurate when dowsing numbers or ideas or anything to do with people or..... But you will gain an appreciation of where your strength(s) lies / lie.
As a rule, I always believe that my answers are accurate. It's up to me then to work out how(!). So, it might be that the time was wrong, or the meaning of a word got in the way, or I had a question which could be interpreted in various ways.
This method helps me to understand my questions better and, because I always think I'm correct, it reinforces the belief in myself.
Don't keep doubting your results, try to see how it could have been right. Don't get sucked into the idea that every result has to be provable. You're not trying to persuade skeptics, you're only trying to get better!!
As you dowse more and more, so you will develop a feeling or a sense of the answer; that it feels right or that it is wrong, or that it is partly right. This sense become stronger the more you dowse, but the speed with which it shows itself varies greatly from individual to individual.
You may be one of the luckier ones!
Hope this helps!
