I am a working water witch
by John Benscoter
My job deals greatly on knowing how and where underground water is. I design 6 to 7 Spring Developments a year to provide a good dependable watering source for all types of livestock. Another aspect of my job is solving water drainage problems in crop fields, farmsteads, or homes in our county. These types of conservation practices depend highly on my ability to find Subsurface Water through Water-Witching. When I go to a site the first thing I do is find the underground water paths using wire as my indicator, I trace the path or paths of the water to the water source or sources and then flag the location or locations. When the construction starts the machine operators watch the locations of the flagged sources and when the area is excavated the water will start flowing or oozing through the soil. I have a 95% efficiency record. Water-Witching does not work for everyone, you cannot teach someone to Water-Witch if it isn't in their body chemistry. One thing that I have noticed about myself and others is the fact that you are more prone to static electric shocks, you will gets shocks from electric switches, cords, appliances when no else will and when you do get a direct shock being from electric fence or loose wiring it really knocks the heck out of you. I am willing to talk to or prove my ability or give references if anyone is interested.
