I am suddenly getting bad results!

I am a beginner dowser. When I first started (about 2 months ago), I had really good success in guessing playing cards. For example, I would shuffle 12 cards (sometimes more), and then I would place them face down on a table, then I would try and find the king of hearts or something. Almost 95% of the time, I was able to guess it correctly.
But today, I tried doing it again, and I kept guessing it wrong! I think it could be that I am consciously trying to decide what the card is, and I think that that interferes with my result, but I am not sure...
If you could help me, that would be great! By the way, I tried map dowsing (I made a map of my house and had someone hide an item in one of the rooms, and then I was able to locate in which room the item was). Also, I am using L-rods.

dowsing for gifts NEW

I have used dowsing at Christmas time to figure out if a certain person would like a certain present. This is a great way to save cash at holiday shopping and birthday presents as well!

Thanks for the suggestions! after reading your comment, I had to go to the market and buy some plastic plates! I had gone to this really tiny one that didn't have any, so I decided to dowse and see if the other market that I was going to go to would have plastic plates. I got a yes answer, and when I got to the market I figured out that I was correct!
Anyway, all I wanted to say was thank you so much for your help, these new results have really motivated me to continue learning this practice! Thank you again!

Things to dowse NEW

Gosh! It could be a huge list, but just about anything you can think of.....
Tallest tree in 5 miles,
oldest building in 30 miles,
how many people wearing red will you see in a certain period,
when will you next need to put gas in your vehicle,
what's the perfect gift for a relative (one they'll both like and use),
what's the best color to wear today,
how many spoons in the kitchen drawer
and on and on and on.... :-)

Bad results NEW

Well, one of the main reasons you could be getting bad results is because you have already proved that you can find cards very well with dowsing. Keeping on doing it isn't going to prove anything else, so maybe your subconscious mind is simply saying that it's had enough of that game and it's time to move on to something more interesting.
In experiments with 'psychic' behavior, you will often find that, after a while, the results tail off. This is partly due to boredom and the like. So I would strongly suggest that you expand your dowsing repertoire. Try dowsing other things for a change and see how you do. After all, you've found out you can map dowse, now see what else you can do with it! Who knows where you'll end up!!

Other than that, then there's our Dowsing Degree program where you get a lesson a week, with at least one or two experiments for you to try each time.
