Learn Dowsing
and who knows where it will all end?

OK, I'm biased. I believe that everyone should learn dowsing.

And I believe that for one very simple reason.

If you learn how to dowse, you will able to tap into one of the great mysteries of you which is....

How do you get the answers?

Now, this isn't the page to go into how dowsing works, but nevertheless, it is one of the great conundrums.

And, if you are even the smallest bit interested in yourself, you are going to start asking questions as soon as you learn dowsing.

So, how DO you learn to dowse?

First, I should say that, in all the years I have been dowsing and teaching dowsing to people, I have not come across anyone who cannot dowse. Some are naturals and get it better than others, and some are slow and hesitant to start. (Pretty much like life, really. Some are natural ball players, while others struggle to catch a beach ball!)

But everyone can dowse.

So, if you want to learn dowsing, it's important to know that you can, isn't it?

You can take dowsing lessons in person or using a course. You can ask for and get dowsing instructions on forums and from other people you meet face to face. You can practice alone or find a group of like-minded individuals.

In other words, there is no hard and fast rule about the best way to learn dowsing.

Put as simply as possible, you learn to dowse by doing it.

Yes...but....

I know, I know. It sounds like I'm just being too glib, making it sound like no answer at all.

But let me explain.

First you have to want to learn how to dowse. Not just a mild interest. You really have to want to learn. Without that, you're going to make slow progress and meet far more difficulties than you should have to put up with.

Apart from that, if you really want to learn, you'll have the interest and enthusiasm to practice when you can.

Take me, for example. I wanted to learn. I read everything I could get my hands on (which was a pitifully small number of books and articles). But I tried everything I read.

And then I kept on trying it.

And after that, I tried some more until I really got the feel of it. Then I knew I was getting better.

But I didn't dowse every day. (I had a full-time job and it took a lot of time and energy.) I did, however, dowse whenever I could. Sometimes, that was only once a week. Sometimes I went several weeks until I could really practice.

But I was always wanting to dowse. I kept thinking about it. And I bought books and tools every now and then.

I didn't know of anyone else interested in it. There was no-one I could really talk to about it. But I did it!

That approach helped me to learn dowsing. Now, although I know that worked for me, I still think that having that interest, that commitment to try and practice is what you will need if you are going to be successful.

An art or a skill

Some people talk about the art of dowsing, as if it was something that you have to be born with.

As I said, I've not come across anyone who couldn't dowse, so, for me that argument doesn't really work.

For most dowsers I've met and talked with, there is common agreement that, while it's not an art, there are certain dowsing skills which can look as if they are natural talents.

But, in fact, they are all skills which have been learned so well that just appear to be natural.

The speed with which you learn dowsing is not a reflection on your intellect or anything else. Its not even a measure of your commitment (remember my story!)

The only thing you need to concentrate on when you learn to dowse is how much and how well you practice. Don't be harsh on yourself as you start. It takes time to get good.

Now you have far more help available than when I started out. So use it! Read forums, buy books (there's a lot of them now), buy tools and practice.

To learn dowsing is to learn that things are not as they seem. (This website will give you some ideas about what I mean by that.) So don't get stuck in a rut.

Don't always do the same thing, the same exercises.

Variety is key! Explore the world around you with this wonderful tool you have. Explore everything everywhere!

Don't assume anything any more, because once you learn dowsing, you're in for a most interesting journey!
