Treasure and Dowsing

by Thomas Tasiopoulos
(Kastoria, Greece)

Dear friends,
Hello from Kastoria, Greece. My name is Thomas Tasiopoulos and with my son Sokratis are amateur dowsers. We use the L shaped rods.

We have this information about a treasure being hidden in an area we know. We've been there several times but we have the following problem:

Every time we get different, conflicting and therefore confusing readings. We have never practiced map dowsing. We're sending you an aerial photo from Google earth of the area of interest and respectfully ask you to give us a helping hand.

If you could map dowse for us and give us some information we would be very thankful.

Thanks in Advance.

Treasure dowsing NEW
by: Nigel

You're more than welcome to ask questions whenever you want about anything to do with dowsing! I don't see it as a 'bother' at all!

Thank you for the information about how it works in Greece. From my knowledge, I know that you can go about and find things on common land in England, and, if the evidence points to the fact that the original owner hid the stuff and intended to come back for it later, then it's yours. So, for example, you wouldn't be able to claim the money a bank robber had stolen as it wasn't his to begin with.

The whole area can become quite complicated legally, so it's always best to make sure you know what are your rights in any situation.

I am looking forward to hearing from you with your next question! (I hope you enjoy the book!)

I appreciate... NEW
by: Thomas Tasiopoulos

Dear Nigel
First of all thanks for answering my comment, it was helpful in many ways. It seems I was doing wrong a number of things although it raised a few questions. It seems that it also is a matter of culture.

Here in Greece for example it is not considered unethical to search in land that is not yours but it is public and therefore partly yours and you do not ask for permission. It is not unethical to search for treasures buried and therefore lost during the hundreds or thousands years of history and not claimed by anyone.

Anyway,I found your response very enlightening and I think I have more to learn. I have ordered your book, and I am asking for your permission to bother you with my questions in the future.
Sincerely,
Thomas Tasiopoulos

Dowsing for Treasure NEW
by: Nigel

Thanks for posting this, Thomas, as it does highlight a very important problem with dowsing; that of interference.

I removed the photo because I wasn't sure if it was your property or not.

From your post, I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you asking for me to get the location for you or tell you it is there or what? More importantly, you don't say whether the treasure is yours or not or whether you have permission to search for it, how old it is or who it might have belonged to, whose land it is on or anything like that.

Such things are important questions to ask. Using dowsing, it is possible to do a lot of things, but not all of them are what should be done.

The problems you mention about dowsing are fairly common ones when treasure is involved! Frequently, the treasure was buried with the idea that no-one else would be able to find it. That energy often remains, making for great difficulties for dowsers who get thrown off the scent by such energies.

First, therefore, you need to find out if you are being influenced and, if so, by what or whom. Then you can dowse to see what you can do to get rid of such influence.

Above all, be ethical in your approach.
